What to Expect
Not your traditional yoga retreat, just like our Yoga + Beer classes aren't your traditional yoga class. Yoga + Beer is about combining things that make us feel good - so prepare yourself for three days of feel-good, beer-drinking, outdoor-adventuring, friend-making, yoga bliss. Come to recharge. To make new friends. To explore Edgefield. To recommit to your practice. Whatever your reason, your thirst will be quenched by this refreshing weekend.
What is Yoga + Beer?
Yoga + Beer is an Oregon-based yoga community that comes together several times a month to celebrate our love for yoga and our appreciation for local, craft beers. Our studio is a brewery. Our post-class refreshment is a beer. All-levels of yoga practice and beer tasting experience are welcome. Yoga for everybody and every body. No pressure, never too serious … just fun, feel good yoga.
The Full Keg of Details
I like specifics, so I'm going to assume that you do too. Here is the general idea of what our days will entail. The exact schedule will be released as we get closer to the retreat.
This Yoga + Beer retreat is a little different than our other retreats as we will be sleeping, eating, practicing and cheers-ing all in one epic location. The Edgefield property is an adult playground full of unique bars, golf courses, a spa, a movie theater, a glass blowing studio, a distillery, a winery, a brewery, a soaking pool and more - all housed at Portland’s old poor farm. The property is fascinating, and if you want to chill - you can chill. If you want all the things to do, you’ll never run out of things to do.
Our retreat will begin with an evening yoga class on Friday, April 26th. Check into Edgefield at your leisure. And for those of you who live in Portland or have a place to stay near Edgefield - we have a pricing option for you that does not include lodging. Once you’ve arrived at Edgefield, you will not need your car for the remainder of your stay.
Your belly and your thirst will be well taken care of all weekend, because no one wants a hangry Beer Yogi. All of your meals will be included, starting with dinner on Friday night, and continuing through brunch on Sunday. Your first beer is included with each lunch and each dinner. You can drink at breakfast - it’s just not included in your retreat price.
We will have one 90 minute yoga practice on Friday, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. All of your yoga classes will be led by Mikki Trowbridge, and will be all levels appropriate. Our brewery yoga classes will take place in the Attic at Edgefield.
Each day will include some free time for you to do your own adventuring and exploring. Since this is just a weekend - we don't want to overwhelm you with activities. On both Saturday and Sunday we will have suggested group activities - but these are optional and you are invited to use your free time as you wish.
Our goal is to make this a fun and easy going weekend - that you don't have to plan. Get yourself to Edgefield, and let us take care of the rest! You deserve it.
